​Mission: To promote education, economic, housing and cultural endeavors in low-to-moderate income communities of Sumter County; and to create safe, vibrant, self-sustaining communities by fostering an environment for effective community through leadership, skills training, counseling and creative initiatives.

The Sumter County Community Development Corporation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2001. 
It serves the Santee-Lynches Region including Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties.

The Board of Directors are:  Sharon Teigue, Chairperson; James T. McCain Jr., Vice-Chairperson;  William “Bill” Day, II; Marilyn Drayton;  Amanda Dudley;  Calvin Hastie, Jr.;  Carrie Kirkman;  Kimdra Ragin; Rosa Strong; Dollie Swinton; J. David Weeks
The Sumter County CDC is located at 337 Manning Avenue and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
